Boex / 3D Creative Solutions commissioned freshsauce to build a website for them to self maintain a portfolio of their work online, and optimise the content to allow the relevant pages to be more easily found via search engines.
As such a custom content management system was built allowing content to be maintained within a set of templates; by using templates, it further enabled the pages to be optimised for search engines to index.
One essential part of the design was to preserve inbound links to content that was published on their previous website. As such their old website was analysed and "moved permanently" redirects created to allow anyone accessing the site via an old URL to seamlessly be directed to the correct content. This same process also ensured search engines could continue to spider old links and hence maintain the associated page rank.
Having intentionally adopted a large page width and height, with an internal scroll bar to suit the majority of Boex customers, it was felt the content should reflow to work on smaller screens, or portable/phone devices, as such the page length is dynamically altered if required to either completely remove the internal scroll bar or shorten it to fit the end users screen size.
